2013 Programme
Events for May, June and July
Thursday
16th May at 12 for 12.30 - A lunch has been arranged at
the Railway Inn in
Honiton. This venue, suggested by Anne Mayes,
was described by the Times in 2011 as a "vibrant restaurant, it
delivers good food, excellent value". I had a very enjoyable
lunch there last week. The menu changes regularly and is
varied. You can have large or starter size portions of a
number of the meals and the desserts were very good. For an
indication of type of menu available see their website
The booking I have made is for a maximum of 20 people. If you
would like to come to the Railway Inn please let me know by
Monday 29th April at the latest. It is a busy restaurant so I need to
confirm numbers at an
early date. Email F.Peroni@exeter.ac.uk
or tel. 01363 773946.
The menu changes regularly so will not be available until Tuesday 7th
May. This will then be circulated to those who who have
indicated they intend to come.
Wednesday 19th June at 12 for 12.30 - Linda Hale & Jean Cole have organised a return visit for lunch at the Lamb Inn at Longdown. After sitting in the spring sunshine two years ago a good lunch was had by all. Dishes can be chosen on the day so you do not need to pre order. The prices vary (see website for the Lamb Inn at Longdown) from £4.95 for a starter and around £7.95 for mains. Deserts are from £4.95. If you would like to come to the Lamb Inn please book with Linda Hale email linda39howard@blueyonder.co.uk or phone Jean Cole tel. 01392 833152 by Wednesday 5th June at the latest.
The July lunch will be held at the Huntsman Inn, 2 The High
Street, Ide, EX2 9RN on Thursday 25th July, 12 for
12.30.(www.thehuntsmaninn.com
- 01392 272779). Two courses for £12.00. The Huntsman won The
Best Dining Pub of the Year, 2012. Final numbers and menu choices to me
(lizsmith15@icloud.com)

I will circulate the most up-to-date menu with a new call for bookings
mid July, but early intimations of attendance would be
welcome. I am away now until 15th June hence early
notification.
