Dear All,

The cost of wines is going up so it looks as though, despite UERSA's contribution to the cost of the church hire, an increase in the fee for the tasting may be unavoidable. One other way of boosting income is to increase the numbers attending, so do remember you can invite a friend along to any tasting for the same price per head.

Best Wishes

John

Dear All,

We were lucky to have a mild and fine evening last night for our garden get together. A pleasant, convivial time was had by all, drinking a small selection of wines from around the world (Romania, Austria, France, sourced from Majestic).

Hello all,

Well, last nights tasting was exciting as we were able to watch practice sword fighting in the nave of the church, and sampled sherry to the clash of blades!! This was caused by my misunderstanding of a TXT message from Mary the church custodian which lead to a double booking, apologies to all.

Despite the clashing swords we had an excellent sherry tasting which greatly expanded everyone's understanding of sherry. Rebecca had selected five sherries for us to taste of the different types, Manzanilla, Palo Cordato, Oloroso, Amotillado and Pedro Ximenez. A really fine selection all first class examples of their type.

Many thanks to Rebecca for educating us all on the different sherries. Thanks also to Annie, Doug, sword fighters and other helping hands who moved the furniture around. This was the last tasting of this year. I am now putting together the programme for next year.

Have a lovely Christmas and New Year, enjoy those sherries!

Best wishes

Di & John
